Never got around to adding a thumb button to my Tron stick. Nice to have a plug and play option. Thumb button is very responsive, actually better than trigger. You can manually swap the way you connect the buttons to have A trigger and B thumb for games like Ikari Warriors. Very happy with this purchase. Need to figure out something cool to do this the old stick, or just save for extra parts if needed.

I had been waiting for this GRS mod way before my A1UP Tron factory stick even popped and cracked for the first time. This is just the stick with no base. The factory base is compatible with this GRS stick with deflector button.
Playing TRON in the arcade was practically a full contact experience back in the day. You had to crank that stick to play Light Cycles. Unfortunately, due to a design flaw in the A1UP Tron stick they all crack and break off sooner or later. For now, A1UP will send you a replacement stick, but it is the same build and it will break in the same way.
This GRS stick with deflector button mod is the fix you want for your A1UP Tron/DOT. The GRS stick is a slight bit smaller than the factory stick and l I was concerned about that at first. Once installed though, I realized the factory stick is oversized for its A1UP cabinet. The GRS stick is proportioned to a to match the A1UP cab better visually. The buttons are excellent and the physical build of the stick is rock solid.
I decided to go balls deep into my TRON mod and swap so I also picked up a GRS Arcade stick with base (Sold Separately). I wanted better switches in the base that the game stick rocks around in. Paired with the GRS stick with deflection button (needed for Discs of Tron) I now have something that won’t snap off in my hand during use. The included inline LED dimmer for the stock’s blue led lights as a good move. Gameplay is significantly improved and on par with the original arcade machine. I’m very pleased with this mod.

I really like the replacement stick. My only gripe was that it was not clear that it may require a new USB control board. I had the original XinMo board that came with the original Tron stick. I discovered quickly that the connections from the new stick required different pin connectors. Once I ordered a new compatible control board from tsticks it was all good.

The deflection button should light up. Besides that, everything else is excellent!

Another great product from GRS. Super easty to upgrade to the new stick. The Deflection button is a great addition and makes playing some of your favorite games so much better. Also, love the addition of the dimming capability for the LEDs. Now I can use the stick with no reflection off my monitor. The new stick feel sturdier too. A must have for any enthusiast!
