Works on PC. Not on Mister FPGA

The encoder works fine on PC and is easy to set up with all the wiring done for you. It's the most user friendly option for beginners.

It does not feel lag free to me but it's slightly better than the generic "no delay" usb encoders on ebay.

The buttons it comes with are the cheap feeling non-clicky ones. It's probably fine for the price point but real micro-switches would be preferable to led lights (which is a pointless gimmick) imo.

The real problem though is that the HID device standard is not compatible with Mister Fpga cores and consoles.

It's extremely annoying that joystick encoders like this, in 2026, are not compatible with the X-input and D-input standards used by almost every joypad and joystick.

FPGA is the future of retro-gaming and I can not use this encoder to make a joystick that works. It can operate the menu but the NC buttons do not work on any of the cores. There no option to switch to NO.

How hard can it be to change this to an X-input encoder... a standard compatible with both PC, Mister and Xbox...

But... if you want to make a joystick for mame in Windows and don't care about real arcade micro-switches... this is a good deal.
